High brightness on surface mount LEDs.
Agilent Technologies has introduced a series of surface-mount LEDs designed and qualified specifically for automobile interior and exterior lighting applications.
Hot-pluggable transceiver for Fibre Channel
Agilent Technologies has announced volume availability of its 2Gbit/s small-form-pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver for Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs).
The new LEDs offer manufacturers increased performance, reliability and design convenience with delivery in as little as four weeks.
In sign applications, the small 3.2 x 2.8 x 1.9mm package and large illuminated area provide a higher image resolution, and the black surface offers higher contrast than conventional through-hole and surface-mount LEDs.
These LEDs are also ideal for automotive interior lighting applications such as instrument cluster and central console backlighting.
In office equipment, they offer performance and flexibility for panel backlighting and illuminating pushbuttons and displays.
The package features an external reflector that makes it simple to couple with a light pipe or light guide to provide uniform illumination of large areas.
Agilent's PLCC-4 package is a form and fit replacement for products from other major manufacturers, including TopLED and other PLCC devices.
Agilent's package design, coupled with careful selection of component materials, ensures high reliability over a wider operating temperature range of -55 to +100C, compared with the -30 to +85C provided by surface-mount LEDs, such as those in ChipLED packages.
Precision manufacturing techniques assure perfect pickup by automated manufacturing equipment, and the combination of a bottom chamfer and precise lead formation eliminates stresses and provides an additional assurance of reliable performance after installation.
The Agilent PLCC-4 surface-mount multicolour LEDs are available through Agilent's direct sales channel and global distribution partners and can be delivered within four weeks.
The LEDs are shipped with EIA481-compliant standard packaging: 8mm carrier tape on 7in diameter reel and sealed in moisture barrier bags. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
