The Agilent HSDL-3603 is a standard power infra-red transceiver offered as a "drop in" replacement for the IRMS6453 and TFDU6101E transceivers used by manufacturers of notebook PCs and printers.

The transceiver is supplied in a small profile package at 3.9 x 9.8 x 4.65mm and is also highly suitable for PDAs, cellular phones, digital cameras and Internet appliances.

It meets Infrared Data Association (IrDA) 1.4 Fast Infrared (FIR) standards, providing operation at speeds of up to 4Mbit/s.

The Agilent HSDL-3603 offers features beyond those of compatible IR transceivers, such as an extended IrDA link distance of greater than 1.5m and guaranteed performance over the -20 to +70C temperature range.

Its low 10nA typical shutdown current helps to achieve very low power consumption in battery-operated products.

The transceiver can also be shut down completely for further power savings.

Other features include an integrated EMI shield and guaranteed performance over a supply voltage range of 2.7 to 5.25V.

It is IEC 825-Class 1 eye safe.

The Agilent HSDL-3603 IR transceiver is immediately available for volume order through Agilent's direct sales channel and global distribution partners.
