Hot-pluggable transceiver for Fibre Channel
Agilent Technologies has announced volume availability of its 2Gbit/s small-form-pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver for Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs).
In recent years, digital signal processor and microcontroller usage in motor control, UPS and high-performance SMPS applications have experienced strong growth, requiring a new class of gate drive to meet the additional complexity and performance requirements placed on the associated electronic components.
The Agilent HCPL-3180 combines maximum switching speed of 250kHz with 2A output current, which is ideal for high-performance applications that require high-output current and fast switching speed.
Other key features of the HCPL-3180 include a short propagation delay of 200ns maximum, high common mode rejection of 10kV/us, and guaranteed performance over the -40 to +100C operating temperature range.
The new gate drive optocoupler operates over a supply voltage from 10 to 20V.
The HCPL-3180 is easy to design with and outperforms high-voltage integrated circuits by providing true optical isolation, higher noise immunity, and better performance stability over temperature.
To assure electrical safety, the HCPL-3180 optocoupler is recognized under UL (2500V RMS for 1min per UL1577), CSA Component Acceptance Notice no 5, TUV and DIN EN60747-5-2 with approval for option (option 600).
The Agilent HCPL-3180 is available in a conventional 8-pin dual-inline package, or with a gullwing surface-mount option.
It is immediately available through Agilent's direct sales channel, and through Agilent's worldwide distribution partners. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
