High brightness on surface mount LEDs.
Agilent Technologies has introduced a series of surface-mount LEDs designed and qualified specifically for automobile interior and exterior lighting applications.
Hot-pluggable transceiver for Fibre Channel
Agilent Technologies has announced volume availability of its 2Gbit/s small-form-pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver for Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs).
Agilent's HSMx-C120 series LEDs are available in a wide variety of colours to help manufacturers make more visually appealing products, and in a range of die technologies to meet both brightness needs and cost constraints.
With dimensions of only 1.6 x 1.0 x 0.6mm, Agilent's new HSMx-C120 series surface-mount LEDs are compatible with the industry-standard 0603 footprint.
Their height is 0.5mm less than most competing packages.
The HSMx-C120 LEDs are also specified for operation from -30 to +85C - a wider range than many competing products.
"The ultraminiature size of our new side-firing ChipLEDs enables our customers to save valuable printed circuit board space and design slimmer, more stylish handsets", said Soo-Ghee Lee, Vice President and General Manager of Agilent's Optoelectronic Products Division.
"This new product family expands our LED package and colour offering to give our customers true one-stop shopping for all their LED needs".
The HSMx-C120 series offers the following die technologies and colours: AlInGaP (aluminium indium gallium phosphide) in 572nm green, 592nm amber, 605nm orange and 626nm red; AlGaAs (aluminium gallium arsenide) 639nm red, GaP (gallium phosphide) in 572nm green, 604nm orange and 626nm red; and InGaN (indium gallium nitride) in 473nm blue and 527nm green.
Typical luminous intensities range from 8mcd (GaP orange) to 145mcd (InGaN green) at 20mA.
The surface-mount ChipLED package features precision dimensions to ensure perfect pickup by automated manufacturing equipment and compatibility with IR reflow soldering.
These devices are available now through Agilent's direct sales channel and worldwide distribution partners.
The ChipLEDs are shipped with EIA481-compliant standard packaging: 8mm carrier tape on 7in-diameter reel and sealed in moisture barrier bags. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
