Hot-pluggable transceiver for Fibre Channel
Agilent Technologies has announced volume availability of its 2Gbit/s small-form-pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver for Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs).
The NEC 338 mobile phone is the smallest and lightest 3G handset to hit the European market, weighing only 114g and measuring just 93.8 x 47.1 x 23.3mm.
The handset, available in either black or silver in a new clamshell design, offers a full-colour high-resolution screen, speakerphone, rotatable camera for video calls, and 17Mbyte internal memory.

The Agilent power amplifier module is well equipped to support the multimedia features of the NEC 338 handset.
With a typical PAE of 46% - the industry's highest for W-CDMA - the module is capable of delivering 116 hours of standby time, 200 minutes of talk time and 130 minutes of video calling for the NEC 338.
The module's small size makes it ideal for use in the smaller "candybar" and "flip phone" handset configurations that have become so popular with consumers.
"Agilent's W-CDMA power amplifier provides handset manufacturers with the size, performance and efficiency they demand to deliver highly differentiated and competitive handsets", said Bryan Ingram, Vice President and General Manager of Agilent's Wireless Semiconductor Division.
"As device replacements, upgrades and net subscriber growth continue to drive handset sales, our modules will be at the forefront, supporting development of next-generation communication products".
The ACPM-7881 power amplifier is designed around Agilent's E-pHEMT (enhancement-mode pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor) process technology.
It is optimised for UMTS/GSM multimode standards and operates from a single-polarity power source over the UMTS2100 1920 to 1980MHz frequency range.
Its high output power (+28.5dBm) reduces the power losses associated with dual-band single-antenna handsets, and its low noise power (-140dBm/Hz, typical) helps ensure the handset's ability to operate under difficult conditions. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
