Fast optocoupler stands the test of high
voltages
The ACPL-772L is billed as the industry's fastest dual-supply-voltage optocoupler in a DIP-8 package.
Avago Technologies has announced the latest addition to its line of high-speed digital CMOS optocouplers At 25Mbaud, the new ACPL-772L is the industry's fastest, dual-supply voltage (3.3 and 5V) optocoupler in a DIP-8 package

Hot-pluggable transceiver for Fibre Channel
Agilent Technologies has announced volume availability of its 2Gbit/s small-form-pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver for Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs).
With its unprecedented speed and the ability to support up to 5kV in isolation voltage protection, the ACPL-772L is ideal for not only high-speed dataline transmission applications, but also those operating in higher voltages, such as test and measurement products.
Avago is a leading supplier of innovative semiconductor solutions for advanced communications, industrial and commercial applications.
Avago's new ACPL-772L supports a wide temperature range of -40 to +105C, provides creepage and clearance of greater than 7mm, and offers a low pulsewidth distortion of 6ns maximum, which helps to maintain high data integrity over longer distances.
The device exhibits a high common-mode rejection of 10kV/us minimum, with 40ns maximum propagation delay and 20ns maximum propagation delay skew.
As the ACPL-772L can operate in dual supply voltages, designers of digital fieldbus (DeviceNet, Profibus) and test and measurement applications have the flexibility in selecting supply voltages, reducing level-shifting circuitry and lowering power consumption.
The ACPL-772L's approval in the following widely accepted international safety standards is pending: UL1577, CSA File CA88324 (Notice 5), and IEC/EN/DIN EN60747-5-2.
Both products are available now through Avago Technologies' direct sales channels and worldwide distribution partners. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
