Hot-pluggable transceiver for Fibre Channel
Agilent Technologies has announced volume availability of its 2Gbit/s small-form-pluggable (SFP) fibre-optic transceiver for Fibre Channel storage area networks (SANs).
This compact package paves the way for designers to develop smaller portable electronic devices that require colour detection and measurement capabilities.
Avago's ADJD-S312-CR999 offers excellent performance in a wide variety of colour sensing applications where it can be used in conjunction with a white LED for reflective colour measurement.
Typical applications include portable electronic laboratory instruments, industrial test equipment, and portable colour readers.
The small size also makes this colour sensor an ideal choice for use in portable consumer devices such as mobile phones, PDAs and handheld games.
The ADJD-S312-CR999 colour sensor provides all the necessary circuitry to directly interface with a microcontroller using a conventional two-wire serial interface.
Its 3 x 3 x 0.77mm lead-free chip-scale package is 55% the size and 50% the thickness of the closest competitor.
Moreover, the sensor operates from a 2.6V supply voltage, providing significantly lower power consumption for portable devices.
To make it even easier to evaluate and design-in the colour sensor, Avago also offers a complete "plug and play" development kit that interfaces to a personal computer through a USB port.
Avago was the first company to offer a digital-output colour sensor combining higher integration, ease of use, smaller size and lower power consumption.
The ADJD-S312-CR999 product retains all of these features in a remarkably small chip-scale footprint and is supported with Avago's "all in one box" development kit to reduce design cycle time. Request a free brochure from Avago Technologies ...
