Agilent Technologies is hosting a web seminar on "UMA/GAN - the next wireless revolution" The free hour-long seminar will begin at 1800 BST on Tuesday 15th May 2007

Generic Access Network (GAN), formerly known as Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA), brings together the best of high mobility cellular voice and data with the extremely high speed data afforded by WLAN hotspots.

Traditional handovers between cells on the same network are still one of the most common reasons for dropped calls.

The situation is more complicated when handovers need to occur between different networks and vastly different radio formats.

This web seminar examines the changes that GAN/UMA introduces to a mobile device and discusses some of the problems that will need to be addressed in both protocol and functional test.
