Trial puts wireless broadband to the
test

Initiative is designed to validate LTE's capability to bring high-speed wireless broadband to the global market.

Agilent Technologies has joined the Long Term Evolution/System Architecture Evolution (LTE/SAE) Trial Initiative, which is designed to validate the technology's capability to bring high-speed wireless broadband to the global market Agilent is the only company to contribute to LTE interoperability testing and field trials from physical layer air interface testing through protocol layer test and network diagnostics

This comprehensive test capacity further enables the transition of LTE to a commercially deployable technology.

"As a leader in the measurement industry, Agilent is fully committed to providing solutions for the entire LTE development lifecycle", says Ron Nersesian, Vice President of Agilent's Wireless Business Unit.

"With our membership, the LTE/SAE Trial Initiative we plan to use our comprehensive measurement expertise to significantly contribute to the full delivery of LTE to the marketplace".

The LTE/SAE Trial Initiative is composed of global companies dedicated to verifying LTE's ability to achieve the performance necessary to give a true broadband experience on mobile devices.

It is divided into three main phases: proof of concept, interoperability and trial.

Joint testing and reporting of ongoing results will continue to the end of 2009, with initial LTE system deployments planned for 2010.
