HSUPA testing accelerates to 5.7Mbit/s

The addition of Agilent's new 5.7Mbit/s HSUPA test capability allows engineers to now test all available Category 6 HSUPA-capable mobile devices and chipsets.
Agilent's E6703E W-CDMA/HSPA lab application features all the capabilities of the test application, while also adding packet-switched (PS) data connectivity for HSDPA Category 8/E-DCH Category 6 mobile devices.
Engineers designing high-speed mobile data devices and applications can now use the wireless communications test set with the new 5.7Mbit/s HSUPA PS data capability to emulate real-world test scenarios.
As a result, they can find difficult design problems earlier in the design cycle and then fix them more quickly.
"This new chipset-validated 5.7Mbit/s capability is the latest in a series of features which today make the 8960 the most stable and easy to use one-box test set for verifying high-datarate mobile performance", said Niels Fache, Vice President and General Manager of Agilent's Mobile Broadband Division.
"The addition of the 5.7Mbit/s HSUPA test capability reaffirms our commitment to deliver cost-effective, innovative and value-added solutions to support new and emerging communication technologies like HSPA".
The 8960 test set can be used for wireless device development, manufacturing and repair of all major 2G, 2.5G, 3G and 3.5G wireless technologies.
It provides test solutions for mobile devices across the entire lifecycle on a single platform.
Agilent's new 5.7Mbit/s HSUPA test capability for the E1963A test application and E6703E lab application will be commercially available Q4 2008.
