Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jan 24, 2006

Comtech AHA Corp's lossless data compression and forward error correction integrated circuits are now available in RoHS-compliant packaging.

Comtech AHA Corp's lossless data compression and forward error correction integrated circuits are now available in RoHS-compliant packaging in accordance with legislation put forth by the European Union.

Many of Comtech AHA's RoHS compliant ICs are already shipping in production quantities with the remainder to be available within the next few months.

Comtech AHA has been shipping lead-free compression devices since 2002 and lead-free forward error correction devices to customers since 2003.

Since then, Comtech AHA has been transitioning its products to RoHS compliant packaging on a product-by-product basis as required by the company's customers.

The company plans to have all products RoHS compliant before the 1st July 2006 date as mandated by the RoHS (Restrictions on Hazardous Substances) initiatives.

"We have a dedication to providing quality products that meet the needs of our customers", said Paul Langworthy, Senior Product Engineer.

"Our RoHS conversion is an example of that ideal and we are pleased to provide compliant devices well ahead of the July deadline".
