A new test socket, developed jointly by Aries Electronics and Synergetix Corp can accommodate any device type up to 27mm, making it extremely versatile as well as cost-effective for both high-speed manual test and custom burn-in sockets The new Integra 27 test socket has moulded PPS plastic components designed to minimise space without sacrificing repeatability and durability

The socket also has a device-specific spring probe insert that enables quick delivery and low-cost high-speed testing.

The insert can be machined quickly to match the testing needs of any device up to 27mm square, providing test engineers with the flexibility to rapidly and economically start manual or burn-in testing.

The Integra's contacts are highly reliable IDI spring probes, some of which are electrically characterised to 10GHz and are durable enough to handle burn-in and HAST testing.

The user-replaceable contacts have a current capacity of 3-6A per contact and a durability of better than 500,000 actuations.

Pricing for an Integra 27 socket with a 256-position BGA package at 0.80mm pitch ranges from $798 to $1374, with a minimum order of 10 pieces required.
