Aries Electronics has introduced the first antistatic version of a tool that provides a fast, easy and inexpensive means of straightening the pins of DIP IC devices.
The rugged test plug can withstand multiple insertions and extractions.
It can also be used to debug and test circuit board prototypes as well as interface additional circuitry to an existing design.
The 44-301695-XX test plug's body is constructed of a 0.62in thick, glass filled FR-4 material with 28g of copper traces, and is UL94V0 rated.
Male pins are brass alloy 360 with 200uin tin over 100uin in nickel per QQ-N-290.
The socket version pins are phosphor bronze alloy per QQ-B-750.
The new test plug is part of Aries' extensive Correct-A-Chip "intelligent connectors" that can modify existing designs without changing existing PCB layouts.
These adapters can also incorporate both passive and active components.
The test plug is available in custom materials, platings, sizes and configurations to suit specific customer requirements.
Pricing for five pieces is $45 each with delivery of 3 weeks ARO.
