ASP Infotec has been renamed Trident Infotec, as part of a programme to integrate the company's PoS/kiosk and displays businesses more closely Commenting on the move, Graham Grover, Managing Director of the Trident Microsystems Group, said, "Increasing numbers of customers are using displays, smart card connectors and printers from different divisions in the Group, and the name change will enable us to look and feel like a single source of supply for all of these requirements"

He added, "Existing ASP Infotec customers and suppliers will see no direct change in the business relationship they have with us".

Formed in 2001 by the merger of ASP UK and Trident Infotec, ASP Infotec's printer products include thermal and impact printers for EPOS, printer mechanisms for OEM developers, housed printers, rack and panel-mount printers and printers for specialised applications like kiosks and vehicles.

With franchises like Amphenol-Tuchel and KDE, the division is also a leader in smartcard and magnetic card readers, writers and connectors.
