A high density PMC provides up to 64Gbyte of NAND Flash memory in two banks.

Aitech Defense Systems now offers a high density PMC that provides up to 64Gbyte of NAND Flash memory in two banks The new M222 provides a sustained data transfer rate of up to 40Mbyte per second and a low power consumption of less than 7 W

Designed for high-speed read, write and erase performance, the M222 is suitable for high-density, local data storage applications such as detailed maps, large databases, radar or sonar images, software programmable radio Elint data or other graphics.

The Aitech Flash Memory Manager (FMM) software package can automatically treat the Flash memory as the system's disk drive and provides real-time operating system (RTOS) support.

It features automatic wear leveling to ensure that write-erase cycles are uniformly balanced across the entire device, preventing any one block from excessive write-erase cycles.

It also provides full file system read/write emulation, automatic block management, and interleaved memory access of up to 32 memory banks for high performance.

In addition, the M222 offers a high-performance, flexible, onboard, FPGA-based Flash controller providing "write ahead" buffers for write/erase operations, substantially increasing data throughput.

Available in commercial, rugged and military grade configurations, the M222 Flash memory PMCs are designed to resist shock and vibration for trouble-free performance, even in high stress military environments.

All boards feature metal thermal frames for excellent rigidity and shock resistance, and combine thermal heatsinks to allow optimal heat transfer to the enclosure's sidewalls.

The M222 is available in forced air-cooled and standard ANSI/VITA 20 conduction-cooled mechanical formats.

Both versions are single slot PMC modules that connect and take all of their power from the CompactPCI, VMEbus or PCI base board.

Pricing for an 8Gbyte M222 starts at $5670.

Delivery is four to six weeks ARO.
