Tilt switches offer direct MCU interface
A new range of optoelectronic tilt switches overcomes many of the problems associated with ball switches by offering direct interfacing with integrated circuits.
Active Switch and Sensor has a new range of optoelectronic tilt switches that overcomes many of the problems associated with ball switches by offering direct interfacing with integrated circuits The RBS 310000 range of switches uses an integrated infra-red emitting diode and silicon photo transmitter arrangement to detect any tilting of the switch body

Inclinometers in set ranges from 5 to 30 degrees
The MRI range of Inclinometers is supplied in set ranges from 5 to 30 degrees with linearity better than 1% and very high repeatability.
The RBS 310000 switches are offered in four variations with side and bottom pin outputs for printed circuit board fitting.
Detection of movement at 5 degrees from vertical position is possible with the RBS 310100 and RBS 310200.
The RBS 310300 will detect horizontal movement and the RBS 310400 tip-over switch offers omnidirection detection at 45 degrees from vertical.
The switches take up less than 1cm2 and can be easily fitted onto a printed circuit board.
Estimated life is in excess of 100,000 operations.
Applications for these switches range from security antitamper to safety systems for equipment.
