The AK5359 is a low-cost high-quality audio A/D convertor for audio applications in professional, consumer equipment and automotive markets.

AKM Semiconductor has released the AK5359, a low-cost high-quality audio A/D convertor for audio applications in professional, consumer equipment and automotive markets.

The 24bit, 192kHz, stereo A/D convertor is ideal for A/V receivers, automotive amplifiers, DVD recorders, professional audio equipment and musical instrument applications.

Latest in a series of high-performance low cost audio A/D convertors, the AK5359 is pin-compatible with popular 96kHz ADCs, the AK5357 and AK5381.

The AK5359 uses AKM's proprietary dual-bit delta-sigma techniques.

An integrated highpass filter is used to eliminate DC offset.

The chip requires no external components because all inputs are single-ended.

The AK5359 operates in both master and slave modes and has two audio formats, left justified and I2S.

With 102dB dynamic range and -96dB THD+N, the AK5359 is ideally suited to many audio applications.

The AK5359 uses a 5V analogue supply and a 2.7 to 5.5V digital supply, making it compatible with industry standard digital signal processors.

Available in a space-saving 16-pin TSSOP package, the AK5359 comes in two temperature versions, -20 to +85C (AK5359ET) and -40 to +85C (AK5359VT).

Priced from $1.43 in 10,000-unit volumes, evaluation boards and samples are available now.
