The AK4341 is a single-supply version of the popular AK4340, which makes use of dual-rail supplies to power the 2V rms output buffer.
The AK4341 generates a 2V rms output swing with an integrated output buffer that is powered by a separate power supply ranging from +8.55V to +12.6V, whereas the core DAC operates from a +3.3V nominal supply.
Applications using the AK4341 do not need an external buffer, reducing circuit cost and complexity.
The DAC section achieves very good dynamic performance, with 100dB dynamic range and -86dB THD+N.
The AK4341 has excellent immunity from clock jitter thanks to the use of a switched capacitor filter.
The device includes an integrated automatic power-down function, which is activated when the master clock or word clock is stopped.
Other features of the AK4341 include de-emphasis, soft mute, power-down, and 0, 6, or 12dB output gain switching.
All functions are controlled by pins, so there is no need for microprocessor control.
The AK4341 is available in 16-pin TSSOP package.
Samples and evaluation boards are also available now.
Pricing in 10,000 unit volumes starts at $0.64.
