A new high performance test contactor for force-sense Kelvin measurements is being introduced to the UK by Alliance Sales (Europe) The new Johnstech International Pad KEL100 Series is an innovative technology that takes the proven frame-slider concept of Johnstech's YieldPro technology to a new level with a "Kelvin sandwich" that features an insulator sandwiched between two frame-slider contacts to form a sense-force voltage/current feedback loop to correct voltage level errors at the pad of the device

The feedback loop is the two electrically isolated contacts that make contact to the same device pad.

With the Pad KEL100 Series, Johnstech recognises that first pass yield is a critical factor and so has focused on controlling voltage levels to give users greater confidence in their device yields.
The insulator is stationary, which helps improve the pointing accuracy of the sliders and ensures force-sense isolation is maintained at all times, so there is no intermittent loss of the Kelvin.
Designed to support full and select Kelvin requirements in production test of QFN, DFN, LCC, and other pad-style applications, the Pad KEL100 Series contactors are configurable to package size and I/O count, and include an elastomeric design for enhanced electrical and mechanical performance.
The Pad KEL100 Series is a robust production solution with a wiping action to break through solder oxides and has all the benefits of Johnstech's other production contactors, including field maintainability.
The product was designed for flexibility of operation by making the frame-slider contact sets and the Kelvin contact sets interchangeable to enable users to switch out the contacts in the field for full or select Kelvin applications.
