Coax connectors designed for
cost-effectiveness
The DFC range is the latest addition to the line-up of MMCX microminiature coax connectors from Aliner.
The DFC range is the latest addition to the line-up of MMCX microminiature coax connectors from Aliner Aliner MMCX microminiature coax connectors have become a de facto standard RF interface for engineers worldwide since the 1990s thanks to their small size, positive locking mechanism and low-RF-leakage "nonslotted" outer conductor designed up to 6GHz

Mini coax connectors spread to new markets
Aliner's MC Card coax connector range has grown to encompass a complete line of more than a dozen products that are also used outside of their originally intended market.
Backed by strong demands for more cost-effective MMCXs, Aliner has redesigned its 25-002, 25-006 and 25-301 series, now officially called the DFC MMCX lines (designed for cost-effectiveness).
Aliner Strategic Marketing Director, Daniel Wu, explains: "70% of the MMCX cost lies in the initial design and its process technology".
"We see from past two years our enormous growth of MMCX usage and realise that our new strategy must help our customers to lower their cost".

Wireless connectors go one step further
Aliner reckons its ultraminiature SSMCX connectors go one step further than the norm in wireless applications by assuring user friendliness, durability and shock resistance.
Antenna switch connector uses MMCX interface
Aliner Industries from Taiwan has introduced the first antenna switch connector using the MMCX interface.
"The new addition of Aliner jet-speed Tornos and Cincom CNC machines can do just that".
"With the help of our new multi-axis CNCs and the new one-piece designs that follow, we have produced MMCX at the lowest cost despite rising copper price".
With cost efficiency as the blueprint, Aliner's DFC MMCX serves as the ideal choice for OEMs who need to reduce both time to market and time to volume.
Wu adds: "The changes we have implemented will result in enhanced services for both our immediate and end customers".
"Since 25-002, 25-006 and 25-301 series are altered both in designs and process technologies, not only could Aliner produce them at the lowest cost, but also quality parts at a just-in-time fashion".
"Alternatively, some companies experiment lowering their manufacturing cost effectively by using CAM machines plus secondary operations; however, the resulting five steps of manual labour often lead to imprecise formation of the C-ring of MMCX connectors and at a much longer lead time".
More specifically, the Aliner 25-002, 25-006 and 25-301 cover current engineering design choices for M2M, 3G and GPS applications.
Available in edge mount, PCB mount, surface mount and mating cable ends, all the 50ohm connectors in the series are in compliance with RoHS requirements, delivering VSWR less than 1.25, insertion loss of -0.25dB and durability of greater than 1350 mating cycles.
To satisfy the demands of modern production facilities, the DFC MMCX series can be delivered in tray/reel packaging for high volume pick-and-place manufacturing.
The Aliner DFC MMCX series has already been used in various mobile consumer electronics and GSM/GPRS modules in the USA, Europe and Taiwan.
