Aliner reckons its ultraminiature SSMCX connectors go one step further than the norm in wireless applications by assuring user friendliness, durability and shock resistance.

Whereas most high-performance connectors for wireless applications focus on miniaturisation and cost effectiveness, Aliner reckons its ultraminiature SSMCX connectors go one step further by assuring user friendliness, durability and (most importantly) shock resistance Thanks to the company's advanced CNC process technology, SSMCX connectors are built to last, offering considerable savings on maintenance cost

This connector uses DFA and DFU concepts which reduce both assembly cost and end product failure rates.

Thanks to their ultraminiature size and shock-resistant structure, the SSMCX series offers design engineers the benefits of space savings combined with superior RF characteristics for compact, high-density mobile electronic equipment such as RFID, mobile wireless AP, PC notebooks and GSM/GPRS modules.

The first major commercial deployments are expected in new PC notebooks in February 2005.

The SSMCX connectors configure a minimal height of 2.50mm and length of 7.85mm providing space savings of 57-59% compared with the standard MMCX inline series.

Also compliant with RoHS requirements, Aliner's SSMCX cable-to-cable connectors deliver maximum VSWR of 1.30 from 1 to 3GHz and 1.5 from 3 to 6GHz, and IR loss of -0.26dB.

The SSMCX connectors also require less space as a sleeve is not required for cable assembly.

This assures that while allowing higher connector densities, the SSMCX connector minimises the likelihood of damage or scratching to the panel body.

Snap-on connection is ensured by a patented two-step mechanical structure and audible sound.

The connector surface is also designed for use in very compact assemblies where there is not enough space to disconnect using tools.

Three visible gripping lines on the connector surface allow maximum resistance for manual disconnection.

To satisfy the demands of modern production facilities, the SSMCX series can be delivered in tray/reel packaging for high volume pick and place manufacturing on 7-10 day lead time.
