"Alpha Micro has formed a number of strong relationships with Irish OEMs and Design Engineers over recent years", explains Maxine Hewitt, who will be heading up operations for Alpha Micro at the Irish office.
"This new base will of course allow us to service these clients to even higher standards, whilst expanding our customer base".
Alpha Micro has been operating as a global company since 1996, with head offices in the UK (Basingstoke), as well as permanent operations in North America and Europe.
The new County Tipperary office is expected to create jobs over the coming years, as business opportunities in the region are developing rapidly.
Irish customers will be able to benefit from the comprehensive services offered by Alpha Micro's three business units: a franchised distributor division; a trading desk/component brokerage; and a special product division.
The office in County Tipperary will initially provide sales support to customers in Ireland.
"In time, however, we plan to employ application engineers with the aim of functioning in a similar way to our headquarters in Basingstoke, England; offering comprehensive design solutions and distribution", explains Hewitt.
She continues, "The opportunities offered by an Irish branch are limitless.
Simply based on the existing business and potential contracts we are currently working on, we expect to significantly add to our current turnover".
Christos Papakyriacou, Managing Director, Alpha Micro Components, added, "Operating regional offices that allow us to offer our global clients technical support on a local level is always high on my agenda.
Establishing an office in Ireland shows commitment to the sector and indicates that we are taking this market very seriously".
