Contract turns M2M modules to fleet management

Alpha Micro Components has been awarded a GBP 500,000 contract to develop the latest fleet tracking hardware for Mileage Management.

Alpha Micro Components has been awarded a GBP 500,000 contract to develop the latest fleet tracking hardware for Mileage Management, a new subsidiary company of Road Angel Group.

The initial contract is for a significant number of units and is expected to grow over the next 18 months.

Alpha Micro designed, tested and implemented new in-vehicle 'black boxes' - this ultracompact hardware allows fleet managers to track and manage their mobile workforce and its vehicles via GPS and GPRS technologies, to monitor distances travelled, which linked to the Mileage Management web based systems alerts fleet managers via a number of vehicle reporting tools.

Alpha Micro will develop three different packages, the MM Asset, the MM Asset+ and the MM Live, to allow customers to choose the right level of service for their fleet.

It is a reliable option for effective and cost cutting asset management.

Road Angel Group awarded the contract to Alpha Micro on account of a highly successful working relationship developed whilst working on the Road Angel Navigator range of safety camera and sat-nav personal navigation tools.

Road Angel was also impressed by Alpha Micro's in-depth knowledge of GPRS tracking systems.

Through future customer feedback, Alpha Micro and Mileage Management will further evolve the project to create bespoke solutions for individual fleet services.
