All AMI Semiconductor manufacturing and test facilities are now officially ISO14001 certified.

All AMI Semiconductor manufacturing and test facilities are now officially ISO14001 certified.

This includes the US chip manufacturing facility and Philippines test facility, certified in 2004, and the chip manufacturing facility in Belgium, certified in 2002.

Each facility has successfully passed third-party audits that ensured their environmental management systems (EMS) met all specifications laid out by the ISO.

ISO14001 is part of the ISO14000 series of standards on environmental management that takes into account legislative requirements and establishes a framework by which an organisation's impacts on the environment can be systematically identified and reduced.

The ISO14001 standard meets the demands of the international business community to have a worldwide standard for environmental management systems.

To achieve ISO14001 certification, AMIS developed an environmental policy statement and each facility established its own performance objectives, which included projects such as reduction of natural resource and chemical usage, increased focus on recycling, and environmental training for employees.

In addition, progress of the system is continually reviewed against the performance objectives with executive management.
