"Use of AMI Semiconductor's standard mixed-signal processes was the next logical step in growing the relationship between AMIS and Intersil," stated Al Morrison, Vice President of Mixed-Signal Foundry Services for AMIS.

"In 2003, AMI Semiconductor won a contract to second source an important manufacturing process for Intersil".

"A joint AMIS-Intersil team successfully installed the Intersil process in our 5in wafer fabrication facility".

"At that time, the standard AMIS mixed-signal processes were introduced to Intersil's design teams".

"The first Intersil designs implemented in the standard processes have now reached production status".

"We look forward to continuing to work with Intersil on future projects." "The key process attribute for Intersil's design is the availability of EE memory in a submicron process," stated Dan Hegsted, Manager of AMIS Foundry Application Engineering.

"The no added step electrical erasable (NASTEE) memory capability in the AMIS process provides Intersil with the benefit of low-cost, nonvolatile memory without adding to process complexity." NASTEE, without adding any process steps to the standard mixed-signal process, allows designers to incorporate small memory arrays, trim mixed-signal functions or create die identification features.

Unlike laser or fusible link trimming, NASTEE allows continued recalibration of circuits after they have been installed in a system-level application.

With 4, 5, 6 and 8in wafer production facilities and mixed-signal processes spanning geometries from 0.35 to 5um, AMIS offers customers the broadest range of mixed-signal foundry process options available.

Additionally, AMIS has the capability to quickly and efficiently port custom processes into its fab to satisfy the second sourcing and process longevity requirements of industry leaders worldwide.
