Clock generator saves space in portable designs
AMI Semiconductor (AMIS) has introduced a low-cost clock generator that will save space and reduce component count in high-performance MPEG-2 applications such as DVD players.
AMI Semiconductor's reinforced focus on the military and aerospace market is underlined by an increased effort and investment in meeting the demands of mil/aero applications and a continued focus on investments in the areas of enhanced high-reliability environmental performance, mil/aero-specific packaging and quality standards.
Driving this increased focus is John Bendekovic who joined the company in the newly created position of Senior Director of Military and Aerospace.
In his new position, Bendekovic will provide strategic market direction and drive the company's mil/aero business development.
Bendekovic brings more than 19 years of experience in delivering FPGA, ASIC and structured ASIC products from companies such as Actel, and most recently LSI Logic to the mil/aero industry.
As director of military and aerospace, he will work with the company's structured digital and mixed-signal business units to create new business opportunities, and expand AMI Semiconductor's portfolio of offerings in the mil/aero sector.
He will also work closely with existing and potential customers to ensure that AMIS has a clear leadership position with all major mil/aero manufacturers.
"I am pleased and excited to join AMI Semiconductor and look forward to meeting the challenges of our enhanced mil/aero efforts with enthusiasm, optimism and determined focus", said Bendekovic.
"We fully understand our customers' design needs and have the technology and expertise to be the preferred supplier of full custom digital and mixed-signal ASICs, cost-effective XPressArray structured ASICs, and wafer manufacturing for mil/aero manufacturers".
