The AMP Netconnect MT-RJ interconnection family is a range of small-form fibre-optic connectors and accessories that effectively doubles the port density for fibre optic LAN electronics when compared with traditional fibre-optic connector styles The MT-RJ plug is half the size of duplex SC and ST style connectors

The work-area jack is installable in conventional British Standard faceplates and floorboxes designed for standard RJ-45 copper connectors.

It complies with international industry standards, including ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B, ISO/IEC 11801 and EN 50173, and versions are available with 50um, 62.5um and single-mode fibre.

The MT-RJ range includes cable assemblies, work-area jacks, high-density patch-panel jacks, 1U patch panels and adaptor plates, as well as MT-RJ jack termination tool kits.

MT-RJ work-area jacks are easy to install, with no epoxy or polishing required, enabling easy field termination and re-termination and making moves, additions and changes simple and inexpensive.

The cable assemblies are factory terminated and tested.

A range of MT-RJ based transceivers is also available from AMP Netconnect.

The MT-RJ connector forms the heart of the AMP Netconnect Solarum system: a complete fibre-optic cabling system including all the infrastructure elements needed to support Gigabit Ethernet, 1.2Gbit/s ATM, OC-12 and other high-speed technologies.
