Tyco Electronics has introduced a new range of AMP Netconnect Category 6 unshielded patch panels featuring rear cable management.

Tyco Electronics has introduced a new range of AMP Netconnect Category 6 unshielded patch panels featuring rear cable management.

The use of rear cable management improves the mechanical performance of the terminations as well as reducing the tensile stress on the cables by maintaining an acceptable bend radius as the cables enter the punch-down block.

The front of the panels is slightly angled to allow the use of impact tooling at the rear.

All AMP Netconnect Category 6 patch panels exceed the proposed TIA Draft 10 requirements for Category 6 component performance.

The company's Category 6 system complies with all the performance requirements for current and proposed applications such as Gigabit Ethernet, 100base-Tx, token ring, 155Mbit/s ATM, 100Mbit/s TP-PMD, ISDN, analogue (broadband and baseband) and digital video and analogue and digital (VoIP) voice.

The use of a universal wiring permits field installation to either T568A or T568B wiring, while simplifying ordering and inventory procedures.

The panels are 43mm high and provide 24 modular jack ports, universally wired.

They are built up of six-port modules with individually replaceable jacks, and the modules will accept 9 and 12mm labels (included) as well as colour-coded icons.
