Now available from Tyco Electronics is a family of high-quality AMP Netconnect Ethernet devices supporting 10 and 100Mbit/s Fast Ethernet (100Base-F) and Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-X).

The products include Ethernet media convertors and LAN switches designed around a 'plug and play' philosophy for ease and speed of installation.

With a strong focus on cost-effectiveness, quality and simple installation, these products allow a wide range of reliable network solutions to be readily implemented.

The media convertors are used to extend Ethernet segments or LAN links to servers and network elements using single-mode or multimode optical fibres based on the MT-RJ, ST and SC connector interfaces.

Rack-mount options are also available.

The compact Ethernet LAN switches are ideal for connecting small, medium or large workgroups to servers, printers, routers or other network devices, and are available in 8-, 16- and 24-port versions.

Optional fibreports are available to extend the capabilities on all the switches.

Typical applications include the small-office/home-office (SOHO) environment, shops, office buildings, professional workgroups, campus and industrial systems.
