A range of fibre-optic cables manufactured in the UK to the highest quality standards is available from the AMP Netconnect Business Unit of Tyco Electronics The products are produced at the Tyco Electronics ISO9001 accredited plant at Bodelwyddan in North Wales where Tyco Electronics has invested in new manufacturing facilities to enhance an operation that has been in place since the 1970s

The cables undergo extensive type approval to the IEC60794 (EN187000) and IEC60793 (EN188000) specifications.

The fibre used in the cables includes 50/125 and 62.5/125um multimode and 9/125um single-mode types, and meets the requirements of the ISO11801 and TIA/EIA B standards.

The range of products available includes office distribution cables designed to offer flexibility, strength and compact construction for indoor or outdoor use.

Available with up to 24 fibres in unstranded form or from 24 to 48 fibres in stranded form, these cables use all-dielectric construction with colour-coded fibres or multifibre subunits.

They are reinforced by aramid yarn or oversheathed with universal LSZH material to meet IEC fire performance requirements.

Also available are universal loose tube cables with a 6.4mm diameter tube containing up to 16 fibres or a 7.5mm tube containing up to 24 fibres.

All the individually coloured primary coated 250um fibres are contained within a single gel-filled polymeric loose tube, which is then strengthened with E-glass members for rodent resistance and oversheathed with universal LSZH for internal or external applications.

Other products in the Tyco Electronics range include simplex and zip twin, full breakout, multitube up to 288 fibres and armoured cables.

A range of chemically resistant sheathing materials is also available as well as UL listed cables for North America.
