APC UPS to protect StorageTek tape
libraries

"StorageTek is taking a valuable step in helping to ensure system availability with the addition of a redundant APC UPS solution to their L180 and L700 library systems", said Peter Rumsey, vice president, Enterprise Solutions Group at APC.
"We are pleased to have worked together to develop this solution ideally suited for StorageTek customers".
StorageTek's UPS bundle mounts internally to the library and includes two APC Smart-UPS units and an APC redundant AC switch.
An AC source failure causes the switch to transfer the load to the redundant UPS automatically; the UPS continues to power the tape library system without interruption.
The dual UPSs and redundant AC Powerprovide failover protection and help protect the data stored in the L180 or L700 tape library.
Additionally, the StorageTek UPS bundle includes APC's web/SNMP management card, allowing network operators to identify potential problems quickly and manage APC devices via web browsers and industry-leading network management platforms.
"Adding features such as auto-power switching and power-conditioning, StorageTek further enhances the reliability of its L180 and L700 tape libraries", said Stewart.
