The MX06 line of products from American Power Conversion (APC) is an easy-to-install, modular DC power system capable of supplying up to 105A at 48V DC.

The MX06 line of products from American Power Conversion (APC) is an easy-to-install, modular DC power system capable of supplying up to 105A at 48V DC for wireless, customer premise and distributed network applications Designed with the customer's current and future requirements in mind, this new power system can grow with the users' needs, allowing them to add power in 10A increments

Compatible with both 19 and 23in racks, the MX06 comes in four power ranges: up to 40, up to 50, up to 60 and up to 100A.

40, 50 and 60A solutions will be immediately available.

100A versions, as well as increasingly configurable solutions, will be available by the second quarter of 2002.

40, 50 and 60A solutions fit in 3U of rack space with the 100A taking up only 6U of rack space for maximum efficiency and power density in a compact footprint.

"The convergence of phone and data services is requiring communications networks to become more and more distributed", said Michael Adams, UK country manager, APC.

"The new MX06 rounds out our comprehensive DC product offering to address these powering and scalability issues of distribution network points, including remote terminals (RTs), multiplexers, distribution nodes, and DSLAM applications in addition to powering equipment at customer premise sites".

Power upgrades for the new MX06, as with all APC DC power systems, are easy to perform and provide "plug-and-play" versatility.

APC's hot-swappable rectifiers can be installed and replaced without having to power down critical equipment.

An additional rectifier, beyond the power draw of the equipment, can be added to create redundancy in the system.

Configurable options for power distribution include multiple fuse and circuit breaker combinations, along with a sophisticated controller that monitors and reports the status of the power system continuously.
