Amino's IntAct software facilitates the construction of a comprehensive and highly flexible IP set-top box platform, able to support a wide range of IPTV middleware and conditional access solutions.
This means that set-top box manufacturers can concentrate on product design and value engineering, to address the widest array of market requirements instead of spending time developing and testing the designs.
Third-party application software can also be ported to add new features for IPTV service providers, thanks to the open software platform architecture.
"We strongly believe that the combined efforts of leading IPTV set-top box and silicon vendors will allow operators to shorten time to market, and provide them with the flexibility to manage IPTV solutions within a multi-vendor set-top box environment, which is an exciting prospect", Stefano Groppetti, Cable and IP Business Director of STMicroelectronics commented.
Best known for its award-winning IPTV set-top box designs, this agreement further strengthens Amino's position as a key IPTV technology provider, and consolidates the company's software licensing strategy.
