Amplicon Liveline has recently introduced a new family of socket 7 and socket 370 single boards computers.

Amplicon Liveline has recently introduced a new family of socket 7 and socket 370 single boards computers The devices accept all popular socket 7 CPUs and Celeron Pentium II, and have CPU speeds of up to 500MHz

These innovative devices are an extension of the popular Mitac range, building on the industrial and commercial experience that the company has gained in the past.

They use DIMM sockets for SDRAM, at a lower cost than SIMM, are of extremely compact size and are competitively priced, as well as offering LAN, audio and SCSI interconnection features.

The boards are compatible with any PICMG backplane for installation into 19in rack mount chassis and are ideal for all industrial or embedded applications.

Also suited to factory automation; security systems, process measurement and control and SCADA, and aerospace and defence applications.

Three socket 7 boards are available, the MSC3570A, full size SBC with VGA, LAN and audio; the MSC1500E half size ISA bus SBC with an in-built VGA controller, and the MSC6540A compact embedded SBC with VGA, LAN and audio.

The MSC3570A, Pentium PICMG board is a full size SBC which offers high-impact multimedia power.

It brings together sound, high-resolution VGA graphics and network features, all just on a single board.

The device supports a wide selection of CPU's, including the Intel Pentium MMX, Cyrix M1/M2 and AMD K5/K6/K6-2/K6-3.

Also included are two 168-pin DIMM sockets for installing up to 512Mbyte of memory.

In addition many standard features are offered which include 512Kbyte L2 cache, 10/100 Base-T Ethernet, two USB ports, VGA display controller and full duplex audio.

The MSC1500E, half size, high speed ISA board with VGA/SSD is a CPU board that supports a wide range of processors as with the MSC3570A.

One 168-pin DIMM socket is available on-board which can be installed with up to 256MB of high capacity SDRAM.

The device offers quite a range of unique features, such as a built-in VGA controller supporting a full range of CRT/LCD panel displays.

The final board in the socket 7 family is the MSC6540A embedded board with VGA/LAN/Audio, a high performance, embedded, all-in-one CPU board supporting low power consumption CPU's.

One 168-pin DIMM socket is available on-board which can be installed with up to 256Mbyte of high capacity SDRAM.

In addition to the on-board 512Kbyte L2 there is a full duplex audio chip installed with integrated 3D VBX stereo sound effects.

The socket 370 series incorporates the MSC3670, a family of boards of full size PICMG SBC with VGA LAN SCSI and audio.

The low cost version offers VGA support for CRT only.

The MSC3675 has a VGA controller for CRT and LCD panel display.

The family supports Intel Celeron 300-500MHz.

It offers two 168-pin DIMM sockets supporting up to 512Mbyte SDRAM with ECC, as well as many additional features.

With a complete family on offer, meeting CE standards for EMC, industrial applications can be met from a single source.

Both pre-and post sale support is available from Amplicon, and the company will also configure and install the boards within a rack mounted chassis to meet exact customer requirements, allowing the end customer to receive an industrial PC straight from the box.
