Amplicon Liveline's single and dual 10W DC/DC convertors have recently been designed into a remote battery powered data acquisition module, which must operate under both arctic and equatorial conditions.

Chosen because of the robust construction and wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85C, the 1000HN series is ideal for the more "exacting" conditions.

Offering the end user a cased open construction with standard pinouts and footprints, the convertors are the economical option as with this standard footprint they can simply be dropped into place on the PCB.

Upgrades from 10 to 15 and 20W in identical packages are also possible.

Emphasis was placed on the 85% efficiency of the unit to conserve battery life, as with this high efficiency there is minimal heat loss, making the 1000HN series ideal for situating in a closed box anywhere in the world.

With both single and dual output models in the industry standard 2 x 1in package with the usual pinout, a choice of 2:1 or 4:1 input ranges are available depending on the nominal input selected.

These units can replace many other competitive convertors at attractive prices.

Each unit also features over voltage protection, continuous short circuit protection with remote on/off as an optional feature.

Amplicon provides popular models available on very short lead times, and is the single outlet in the UK for the 1000HN and LN (Lucent compatible) series.

The DC/DC convertors meet UL, CSA, TUV and CE specifications and are ideal for applications in telecommunications equipment, mixed signal substations, distributed power networks, data communications equipment and process/machine control equipment.
