SBC Incorporates Celeron Pentium II Processor
A new generation single board computer, which incorporates the state-of-the-art Celeron Pentium II, is now available from Amplicon Liveline.
This makes it ideally suited for developing powerful systems across a range of CAD/CAM and image processing environments including digital broadcast, video and medical imaging, as well as networked server applications.
Building on the proprietary architecture of the DP400, this new board incorporates the Intel E7505 chipset and includes among its key features: 533MHz FSB for dual Xeon processors, 8Gbyte dual-channel DDR memory capacity, Adaptec dual channel Ultra320 SCSI controller with Zero Channel RAID support and PCI-X 64bit/133MHz.
Dual-channel DDR offers double memory transfer speeds up to 4.2Gbyte/s and supports unbuffered/ECC memory modules up to 8Gbyte capacity through four DIMM slots.
Meeting the need for a high-speed I/O expansion capability, each board supports PCI-X (Peripheral Component Interconnect Extended) bus technology which boosts the maximum speed of data transfer to 1.06Gbyte/s and ensures full hardware/software backward compatibility.
Furthermore, the next-generation AGP 8X display interface provides data transfer rates up to 2.1Gbyte/s, and should satisfy the performance and scalability needs of most current and future graphics applications.
To meet the high-speed network demands of professional applications such as CAD/CAM and 3D imaging, the DP533 board also features the Intel 82540 Gigabit LAN controller.
This offers data transfer up to 1Gbit/s which is ten times faster than that of 10/100BaseTx Ethernet.
In addition, the Professional (DP533-S) version comes with an embedded Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI controller, offering a 320Mbyte/s data transfer that is ideal for high-end storage, audio/video editing, transaction processing and other environments that demand optimum performance and reliability.
Finally, an IEEE1394 (Firewire) interface enables high-speed transfer of video streams at up to 400Mbit/s.
Two ports are provided, offering expansion up to 63 devices.
