Amplicon Liveline has introduced a range of convertors for intermediate bus architecture power systems, to provide the complete solution for customers' needs.

The Power-One HBCS DC/DC convertor available now from Amplicon, is a half-brick device that accepts an input of 36-75V DC and provides 12V DC at 25A with very tight regulation, and isolation of 1500V DC with a basic insulation rating.

It is designed to be used as the intermediate bus voltage supply.

The design engineer additionally benefits from an onboard four-channel sequencing switch that can be programmed to provide control of subsequent switching regulators.

These switches are inhibited until the 12V DC output reaches 88% of its nominal value.

These added features ensure that a perfect supply is provided for the regulators, that can be turned on and off, in any desired sequence.

Point of load conversion is provided by the Power-One YNS12S16, also part of Amplicon's new range.

From Power-One's innovative Nex family this surface mount nonisolated convertor provides up to 16A to the load.

The output voltage is user programmable between 0.75 and 5.0V DC via external resistors.

This enables selection of the correct voltage to the load, with an easy upgrade path.

It provides exceptional thermal performance in high temperature, low airflow conditions, permitted by the use of a low-profile format that requires no added heatsink.

Startup into a pre-biased output with no minimum load requirements makes the convertor an ideal choice.

The new range perfectly complements the supplies already available from Amplicon, with the new technology enabling customers to design a complete power system solution.
