The Adlink PCI9820 is a high-sampling-speed data acquisition board, available now from Amplicon Liveline.

The Adlink PCI9820 is a high-sampling-speed data acquisition board, available now from Amplicon Liveline Offering two input channels with single-channel sampling at up to 130Msample/s in "ping pong" mode, it is ideal for RF applications such as radar, vibration analysis, software radio applications, and those requiring deep memory for storing data

The board provides two 14bit A/D pipeline convertors to digitise input signals, both of which have a sampling rate of up to 65Msample/s.

When using only one channel, the signal can be set to "ping pong" between the two convertors enabling the sample rate to be doubled.

The device has an internal 60MHz timebase for data acquisition, or alternatively uses an external source for up to 65MHz.

Its flexible input configuration includes programmable input ranges and user selectable input impedance.

Offering a very large SDRAM of up to 512Mbyte enables very fast data to be digitised and stored onboard before being transferred to the host PC through means of the scatter-gather bus mastering DMA.

Flexible triggering functions are also available, using both analogue and digital triggers.

The analogue trigger has programmable trigger thresholds on rising or falling edges of both input channels.

With post-, pre-, delay and middle trigger modes, data can be captured at any moment.

The PCI9820 can be linked with up to four other identical boards, which enables them to acquire data from one trigger signal.

A synchronisation bus routes the timing and trigger signals between devices.

The PCI9820 can be used with Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP and Linux operating systems and has drivers for LabView, VB, C++ and Delphi along with ActiveX controls.

A PXI version of this board will be available soon.

Amplicon provides full technical support for the board, and can also give customers the added benefit of being able to recommend a complete package which could include industrial computer and data communications products, in order that a total solution for each individual application is provided.
