First protocol test solutions for 3G terminals
The world's first comprehensive protocol test solutions for 3G terminals have been launched for the first time in the Asia-Pacific region by Anite Telecoms.
The new solution supports dual-RAT test-cases and enables such functions as the setting up of multitechnology calls, ie WCDMA and GSM/GPRS, the provision of location update information, mobile originated and mobile terminated calls, and the selection of different networks and cells operating.
The solution tests dual-RAT-enabled user equipment, selecting the appropriate network across which to operate, whether the core technology of the network is GSM-based (eg GPRS, EDGE) or WCDMA-based.
Anite's dual-RAT-capable test solution has been developed from the proven Anite U-SAT, 3G protocol test solution, and the company's SAT and SAT+ development and conformance test solutions for GSM and GPRS, respectively.
Anite's Director, Daniel Oosthuizen, said, "By integrating the proven capabilities of both our GSM/GPRS SAT and SAT+ solutions and our 3G U-HT test solution, Anite is now able to offer the industry' first dual-RAT capability.
This comes at a critical time for the industry as it seeks to streamline and clarify the test procedures for complex 3G terminals".
