Solution for testing dual-RAT handsets
Anite Telecoms has launched the industry's first dual-RAT (Radio Access Technology) handset test solution.
Over the past three months, Anite has increased its workforce steadily, with this trend expected to continue during the next quarter.
Some 80% of the new staff are software engineers, where skills such as C/C++ are crucial, and Visual C++/MFC, Windows API, GUI/MMI Windows and TM software design will play a key role in next-generation developments.
In July, Anite announced an increase in turnover of 83%, with operating profits up by 102%.
Preliminary figures for year ended 30th April 2001, showed a turnover of GBP 29.5 million and operating profits of GBP 7.7 million.
Robert Johnson said "The opportunities which lie ahead in the USA for Anite are exciting.
As the leader in 3G, GPRS and GSM development and conformance test solutions, the company is well positioned to excel in the US market by helping our customers deliver next-generation wireless technology on time".
Anite Telecoms Director, Daniel Oosthuizen, said, "At a time when the industry is moving firmly towards the earliest arrival of 3G networks, the need for our test solutions is growing rapidly.
Whatever other challenges are giving the wireless industry a headache at present, by building up our workforce in this way, Anite aims to ensure that the challenge of development and conformance testing is not one of them.
