Development Toolset cuts handset development time
Development Toolset is slicing significant time and cost from handset design projects.
Anite's Development Toolset (DT) product is slicing significant time and cost from handset design projects implemented by its customers.
Development projects can now be delivered months faster using DT and, when combined with the Anite SAT platform's RF, pre-RF and pre-silicon system interfaces, DT can accelerate the most demanding wireless chipset, reference design, and end-user handset development projects.
Industry statistics show ASIC re-spins take months to complete and cost in excess of US $1Million.
Protocol software errors discovered at the certification stage cost 100 times more to fix than the same bug at the simulation stage.
DT is founded on the single premise of identifying and fixing errors earlier in the design cycle, preventing delays to development projects and saving millions of dollars in development costs.
The signature feature of DT is Developer's API.
Using an object-oriented approach, Developer's API provides access to all of the SAT system's capabilities, while hiding unnecessary complexity for any individual user.
DT also provides intuitive Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for out-of-the-box testing, and powerful debug/analysis tools which together facilitate the testing of leading edge protocol stack and L1 designs as they are being implemented.
The ability to test comprehensively while developing, whether in a host environment or using a hardware based model (eg FPGA), and reuse these tests during stack integration and with RF, significantly reduces the product development time and costs.
"Anite's move into the earliest stages of the development process is great news for handset developers", says Dr Colleen Cheung, Development Toolset Product Manager at Anite Telecoms.
"DT leverages the SAT platform's various Digital I/Q and host-based interfaces to deliver unrivalled confidence to design test programmes".
"DT provides the test capability required to catch errors early in the design process".
"Now developers in all areas of handset development can work collaboratively, using DT to easily create and run unit tests as they undertake their implementations and evolve their designs".
Development Toolset is available immediately.
