High-density DAC provides 40 channels

The AD5379 is the industry's first 40-channel, 14bit voltage-output DAC and combines 40 DAC channels and 40 output amplifiers (with gain) in a single 108-ball CSPBGA package.

The AD5379 is the industry's first 40-channel, 14bit voltage-output DAC and combines 40 DAC channels and 40 output amplifiers (with gain) in a single 108-ball CSPBGA package.

All DACs are monotonic to 14bit and accurate to 12bit.

The maximum output voltage span of the DACs is 17.5V.

The output range of the DACs is determined by the value of Vref(-) and Vref(+).

The device also offers users the flexibility to digitally adjust the span and range of each individual DAC by writing to on-chip gain and offset gain registers, thereby facilitating system calibration.

The AD5379 includes both a parallel and a serial interface.

An on-chip FIFO enables the user to perform up to 120 successive writes at high-speed.

The three-wire serial interface on the device operates at clock speeds up to 33MHz and is compatible with SPI, QSPI, Microwire and DSP (digital signal processing) interface standards.

A daisychain mode is provided to facilitate linking of multiple devices in a system.

An LDAC function allows the simultaneous update of all 40 channels.

Well-suited for automatic test equipment, optical networking and industrial control system applications, the AD5379 operates within a -40 to +85C temperature range.

The AD5379 is available now and is housed in a 13 x 13mm 108-ball fine-pitch ball grid array (CSPBGA) package, priced at $67.75 per unit in 1000-piece quantities.
