Low-noise amp complements precision
convertors
Op amp provides a novel blend of low distortion, low noise and high speed for applications that also require high precision.
The ADA4898 is the latest addition to the Analog Devices portfolio of low-noise operational amplifiers Following the success of the ADA4899 and AD8099 operational amplifiers, the ADA4898 offers designers a unique blend of low distortion, low noise and high speed for applications that also require high precision

14bit A/D conversion at 105Msample/s
Analog Devices is claiming another industry breakthrough with the first 14bit ADC to run at 105Msample/s.
Designed to work with Analog Devices' precision data convertors, including the AD7631 and AD7634, the ADA4898 is especially suited for radar-based collision avoidance, medical instrumentation and other 16 and 18bit precision instrumentation applications.
"Analog Devices continues to lead the industry in offering low-noise amplifier products".
"The ADA4898 is the next op amp to use the common-mode linearised input that ADI pioneered with the AD8099", says Jim Doscher, product line director for High Speed Linear Products at Analog Devices.
"The ADA4898 achieves unprecedented low '1/f' and broadband noise for a high-speed amplifier".
The ADA4898 unity gain stable op amp offers design engineers ultra-low broadband noise (less than 1nV/(rt)Hz), 1/f noise of 1.2nV/(rt)Hz at 10Hz, low distortion (-110dBc at 500kHz), and DC precision that optimises the performance of A/D convertors.
Particularly suited for 16 and 18bit systems, the ADA4898 features high speed (-3dB bandwidth of 70MHz at unity gain) and high slew rate (40V/us), providing the optimal combination of amplifier speed and precision.
The ADA4898 runs from a wide supply range of +/-5 to +/-15V.
The ADA4898-1 single is now available in full production quantities in an 8-lead SOIC (small outline integrated circuit) package and is rated to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of -40 to +125C.
A dual version will be available later this year.
The ADA4898-1 is priced at US $1.89 in 1000-unit quantities.
