Low-cost solution to high-brightness requirements
A new range of high-quality colour TFT LCD panels is now available from Anders Electronics.
Moving images and colour STN technology are not normally associated with each other.
This is because generally, colour STN displays have a frame rate of only 3-4frame/s, which results in picture blurring when displaying animations.
Therefore, TFT displays - even though they carry a significant cost penalty - are usually preferred.
The new colour STN module from Anders, however, has a frame rate capability of 15frame/s, thus enabling moving images to be displayed without the undesirable blurring effect normally associated with the technology.
Manufactured by Nan Ya, the first Taiwanese company to offer display products which compare favourably, and even exceed at times, the quality associated with leading Japanese manufacturers, the product achieves this fast response by using new MLA driving techniques.
Measuring 1.4in (diagonal), and with a resolution of 128 x 128, the new STN module displays 4K or 64K colours and is suitable for applications such as mobile phones, digital and video cameras.
With a white LED backlight providing a brightness of 130nit, the product offers a wide operating temperature (-20 to +60C) and typical power consumption of only 15 or 150mW, respectively, without or with the backlight illuminated. Request a free brochure from Anders Electronics ...
