Interface kits speed LCD applications development

Interface kits are designed to help customers develop and implement applications based on the LG Philips LCD range of TFT displays.

Anders Electronics has launched a range of interface kits designed to help customers develop and implement applications based on the LG Philips LCD range of TFT (thin-film transistor) displays.

The kits require only the addition of a 12V power supply and video interface cable, allowing exceptionally fast and straightforward evaluation, development, and implementation.

Anders is the sole authorised UK source for products from LG Philips LCD, which is the world's market leader for TFT panels.

The new interface kits support the range of LG Philips LCD products designated "applications panels", from small devices for embedded use, to larger 17in panels commonly deployed as computer monitors.

Each kit includes an interface card, cold-cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) backlight inverter, on-screen display (OSD) control PCB, and the necessary cabling to interconnect these components with the TFT panel itself.

Kits are available for use with 6.4, 10.4, 12.1, 15 and 17in panels; and with VGA, SVGA, XGA and SXGA resolutions.

The main interface cards support a choice of physical interface, including VGA D-sub, DVI (for 15 and 17in products), and composite video (for 6.4, 10.4, 15 and 12.1in screens).

The OSD unit gives a comprehensive control set which gives customers the ability to quickly optimise the on-screen image.

The kits, when ordered as packages, are preconfigured for the panel and need no further setting up.

For customers who intend to drive their LCD panel from their own interface or single-board-computer, Anders can provide a full range of suitable inverters and panel connectors as separate items.
