Platform discovers microcontroller designs
Anglia has introduced a complete low-cost development platform for the STR71xF series of microcontrollers.
It offers customers the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of having a single supplier for components, design support, PCB assembly and test.
All major component types can be accommodated, and a capacity of 250,000 placements per hour will be possible.
Three of the production lines have underfill capability together with inline automatic optical inspection equipment supported by offline X-ray facilities.
The plant is able to handle single sided, double sided, flexible and flexirigid PCBs.
Prototyping and smaller batch builds, plus the assembly of finished PCBs into enclosures is also offered, providing a total solution.
Anglia Solutions will initially create 20 new jobs and up to 40 people could be employed in what is a highly automated environment.
Ron Tosh has been appointed Managing Director of the new venture.
He has worked for Anglia since 1990, previously as Operations Manager.
Commenting on the opening of Anglia Solutions Tosh said: "Moving into design and PCB assembly represents a further step in the integration of the supply chain for an electronics component distributor.
We see this as a logical progression for Anglia to move forward, providing customers with the widest possible range of services in addition to the supply of components".
