ICs provide high image quality
Anchor Bay's Video Reference series provides up-conversion from 480, 576, 1080, 720 and 1080 pixels and output any resolution from VGA (640x480) to 1080 pixels (1920x1080) without ringing.
Anchor Bay has released two new third-generation standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) single-chip video scaling ICs These new chips are specifically targeted at DVD player/recorders, HDMI 1.3 DVD player/recorders, HD-DVD, Blu-Ray and A/V receiver applications

Deinterlacing technology raises video performance
Anchor Bay Technologies reckons it is once again setting the benchmark for video quality with the launch of its Video Reference Series (VRS) brand and Precision Deinterlacing technology.
Built on Anchor Bay's Video Reference series (VRS) 10bit precision video scaling technology, Anchor Bay's new low-cost ABT1012 and ABT1015 ICs are designed to independently scale SD and HD images horizontally and vertically for outstanding picture quality up to 1080p resolutions.
The ABT1012 offers an identical pin-out to the ABT1010, Anchor Bay's second generation scaler chip that is widely used in DVD players and AV Receivers.
The ABT1015 is HDMI 1.3 compatible with deep colour (36bit inputs and outputs) and xvYCC colourimetry capabilities.
Both chips provide up-conversion from 480, 576, 1080 and 720 pixels and 1080i and output any resolution from VGA (640x480) to 1080 pixels (1920x1080) without ringing or other artefacts.
In addition to scaling, the ABT1012 and ABT1015 offer basic 480i and 576i deinterlacing support.
The new ICs also support 1080 pixel pass-through with picture controls and embedded sync input and output.
