Animatics has released its 2300 series and 3400 series IP65 SmartMotors for wash-down, dusty, corrosive or outdoor environments The fluid-protected integrated motors have the controller, amplifier and encoder built into true brushless DC servomotors, making it possible to eliminate the NEMA cabinet and excess cables

Built with standard NEMA frame dimensions, the input voltage can range from 18 to 48V DC with continuous torques from 20 to 250oz-in.

The IP65 versions each employ 23 different seals, protecting them from fluids and tiny particles.

They also use specially sealed D-sub connectors.

Animatics offers molded cable assemblies that extend the protection back to the central connection point.

Like the SmartMotor predecessors the IP65 rated motors have the ability to be programmed to operate stand-alone or to operate as part of an RS-232 or RS-485 network.

This enables them to be a general-purpose controller for an entire machine.

In addition to that, the SmartMotors have contouring capabilities which when used with free PC co-ordination software can take industry standard G-Codes for linear and circular interpolation and interfacing to CAD/CAM.

Available options are encoder resolutions to 256,000 count/rev (VRE option), shaft modifications and internal, fully automated brakes.
