A recent exhibition held at Anritsu's factory in Atsugi, Japan, marked the growing partnership between the company and the UK's National Physical Laboratory (NPL).

A recent exhibition held at Anritsu's factory in Atsugi, Japan, marked the growing partnership between the company and the UK's National Physical Laboratory (NPL) The exhibition was held to promote the two companies' growing relationship, both to Anritsu's Japanese staff and to guests from a number of major Japanese telecomms companies

The partnership started when Anritsu and NPL worked closely on the development of a fibre-optic power meter, designed to handle the spectral range and more powerful signals used in today's high-capacity telecomms links.

The two companies worked together on the design and prototyping of the new sensor.

The prototype was independently evaluated by NPL before commencement of final production.

Since then commercial products have been calibrated to provide reference standards for traceability to the newly extended power measurement scale at NPL.

The Anritsu and NPL partnership has grown considerably over the last year and the two companies are now working on a number of further projects in Japan, the UK and USA.
