Anritsu's MT8850A/MT8852A Bluetooth test sets have received "Test System Validation" status from the Bluetooth Qualification Review Board (BQRB).
The result is that comprehensive testing of a headset is possible for the first time using a single instrument, extremely important given the demands on test time and capital costs in this competitive manufacturing environment.
Developed in partnership with Spanish company Cetecom, this option enables the MT8852A to simulate a mobile phone by running the audio gateway profile.
It allows users to perform connection, authentication and pairing, procedures that are required by the higher layer protocol.
Audio signals are then routed to the headset speaker from the headset microphone, which in turn facilitates measurements of the headset frequency response and distortion.
Anritsu's "Headset profile emulation" option also provides microphone and speaker gain controls for full implementation of the audio gateway profile.
The software can also display a full listing of all the high layer messages that are exchanged between the tester and the headset, which will assist in debugging new protocol stacks.
